A paralegal at Perrotta Jones McCree P.C. provides legal advice and expertise to our attorneys, Louis M. Perrotta, Gary Jones, Kyle McCree, support staff, and clients regarding a wide range of issues regarding the law including, corporate, criminal, municipal, personal injury, and real estate law as well as wills and estates. This paralegal will principally manage various case-related tasks.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate practice/firm response to third-party
- Drafts and formats legal documents (motions, contracts, pleadings, letters)
- Conduct legal research (statutes, case law, regulations, municipal codes)
- Organize case files and maintains document management systems
- Communicate with clients for updates, intake, and information gathering
- Track deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements
- File documents with courts or agencies (electronic filing and physical filing)
- Summarize depositions and discovery responses
- Assist our attorneys with anything they may need
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Preferable 5 years experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking
- Ability to perform efficiently in fast paced environment
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers
- Ability to manage and coordinate case calendars and be on top of deadlines
Education
- Bachelor’s degree and/or qualification to be a paralegal by certification or education and work experience as set forth by the American Bar Association and any applicable Ohio and Pennsylvania State codes.
