Duties
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling all retail sales transactions with efficiency and professionalism.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Conduct product demos when needed to showcase features and benefits of merchandise, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities including cash drawer balancing, processing returns, and issuing receipts.
- Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising standards to assist customers effectively and promote sales.
- Stock shelves and organize displays to ensure the store remains inviting and well-organized.
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems proficiently for transactions, returns, and exchanges while adhering to store policies.
Requirements
- Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly phone etiquette to assist customers over the phone or in person.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are desirable for team support roles.
- Basic math skills for handling cash registers, balancing cash drawers, and performing retail math calculations accurately.
- Knowledge of grocery store or retail store product lines is advantageous; experience in merchandising or stocking is a plus.
- Ability to handle cash register operations efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
