Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
In the role of ARCA’s Occupational Therapist you are responsible for engaging clients with traumatic brain injuries in meaningful therapeutic activities that maximize independence in an assisted living facility and dayhab environment. The job requires you to perform a variety of duties including the following:
- The occupational therapist will evaluate and treat clients with traumatic brain injuries, and will have experience in neurorehabilitation, physical barriers, communication and cognitive skills to assist in development of an individualized treatment plan.
- Monitor NeuRoads clients progress to make sure that they’re successfully reaching short term and long-term goals
- Engage client in individual and group therapy sessions that address physical and cognitive deficits.
- Provide creative interventions that improve quality of life and meaningful engagement.
- Provide team with recommendations for adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies for intentional engagement.
- Reviews client progress and adapts the treatment accordingly.
- Addresses vocational, residential, and community-based goals
- Provides daily documentation for individual and group-centered therapy sessions.
- Provides education to clients with traumatic brain injuries, and ARCA NeuRoads staff the skills and techniques to help with treatment program. Assists patients in learning to better perform everyday tasks.
- Performing administrative tasks such as keeping records, writing reports and making telephone calls.
Qualifications
Experience with working with patients with brain injury preferred.
- Certified Occupational Therapist licensure required.
- 1 year of rehabilitation experience
- 1 -year experience working in a rehabilitation program preferred
- Must have current, valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
- Computer/technology: Computer skills and experience using Internet/Intranet, Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and database applications is strongly preferred.

- Must hold a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
