Summary/Objective
The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that both the YAPP and customers’ quality requirements are fully met on all assigned products, programs, areas, and functions. This role involves monitoring supplier performance, identifying potential quality risks, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations. Further, the Supplier Quality Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, support new product launches, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will also contribute to a work environment where fairness, equality, and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.
Essential Functions

- Ensure product quality is achieved for the assigned product group or program through compliance with workmanship standards and quality program requirements
- Provide support related to engineering hardware throughout the product lifecycle
- Support the analysis of hardware returned from the field to identify issues and corrective actions
- Provide support for procurement activities as needed
- Review quality trends associated with the assigned product or program and participate in the development and implementation of defect-reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams involved in manufacturing, procurement, and production within the assigned product or program area
- Perform source inspections and/or surveys, including visits to supplier facilities, to evaluate adherence to company quality requirements for products or systems
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
The Supplier Quality Engineer oversees the MRB/Crib employee.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office and manufacturing environment. The role routinely involves the use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
While performing job duties, the incumbent may frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts within the manufacturing area. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is typically moderate.

While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands to grasp small objects, handles materials, feels, and reaches with hands and arms.
The employee may occasionally be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They must frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 10lbs and occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25lbs. This position also requires specific visual abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on job demands.
Travel
This position requires travel up to 25% of the time. Travel is primarily local during the business day; however, occasional out-of-town and overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
2. Over three (3) years of relevant experience in the automotive industry
3. IATF 16949:2016 Lead Auditor certification
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Over two (2) years of experience in the North American automotive fuel storage industry
