Position Summary
Lincoln Tool & Design is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing tooling, fixtures, machinery, and manufacturing solutions using SolidWorks. This position requires strong mechanical design skills, an understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate with customers, project managers, machinists, and production personnel to deliver high-quality solutions. This position is open to all candidates; at least 1 year of engineering and design experience is preferred.
Essential Responsibilities

Design tooling, fixtures, machine components, assemblies, and custom manufacturing equipment using SolidWorks.

Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).

Create manufacturable designs that meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

Work closely with machining, fabrication, and assembly teams to ensure designs support efficient manufacturing.

Conduct design reviews and implement engineering changes as needed.

Apply GD&T principles and standard engineering practices to drawings and documentation.

Support project quoting and concept development activities.

Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues and develop practical solutions.

Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.

Collaborate with customers and internal teams throughout project execution.
Qualifications
Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering(4-year degree) or Associate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (2-year degree).

Proficiencywith SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and drawings.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred

Experience designing tooling, fixtures, automation equipment, or custom machinery.

At least 1 year of mechanical design or manufacturing engineering experience.

Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes.

Understanding ofGD&T and manufacturing tolerances.

Experience with PDM systems and engineering change management.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
