Responsibilities
1. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance in designated areas. This includes servicing, cleaning, sanitizing,
stocking, and requisitioning cleaning supplies, equipment, and reporting necessary repairs needed to carry out these
duties.
2. Seasonally, performs heavy cleaning – i.e. carpet shampooing, washing walls, de-bugging light fixtures.
3. Performs duties specific to particular location where assigned. For the Dehon Center this includes but not limited to
laundry, cleaning up potentially infectious materials, handling biohazard materials.

4. Reports any serious damage, vandalism and potentially dangerous conditions to the Lead Custodian, Director of
Health and Wellness, or the Director of Counseling Services.
5. Request repair work, notifying the Lead Custodian for major repairs.
6. Collaborates with organization-wide facilities to ensure best practices.
7. Complies with all safety and health requirements, whether established by management, federal, state or local laws.
8. Enhances professional knowledge by attending job-related workshops as directed by the Lead Custodian
9. Respects the privacy of material present in individual rooms and refrains handling or reading such materials to avoid
accidental violations of confidentiality.
10. Completes annual HIPAA training and other required organization trainings.
11. Responsible for upholding and abiding by Health Center specific and organizational policies, procedures, and
standing orders.
12. Reports, immediately any type of abuse or neglect, suspected or alleged, to the proper authorities.
13. Performs other responsibilities as required by the Lead Custodian.
