Position Summary
Teachers are responsible for creating a warm, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and age-appropriate instruction to young children
- Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Supervise children at all times in accordance with state ratio requirements
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Observe, document, and communicate children’s progress and needs
- Support children’s social-emotional development using positive guidance techniques
- Follow all center policies, procedures, and Texas Child Care Licensing regulations
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a licensed early childhood or childcare setting preferred
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and caring for children
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices
- Ability to meet Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards, including:
- Background check clearance
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Required annual training hours
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Dependable, patient, and nurturing personality
