Job Summary
Friction Crane Operator -Experienced Operators only
We are seeking an experienced, safety-conscious Friction Crane Operator to join our marine construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating friction cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials on construction sites.
This position requires strong knowledge of crane operations, mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently with field crews.
Duties
- Operate Friction crane to lift, move, and position loads in accordance with project requirements.
- Perform crane operations on barge and marine construction sites.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections of cranes and associated equipment to ensure safe operations.
- Coordinate lifting operations with supervisors, rigging, ground personnel, and other crew members.
- Maintain clear communication with ground personnel during crane operations.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and promptly report mechanical problems.
- Assist with loading and unloading of materials and equipment as need.
- Opportunities for advancement and additional compensation/ commissions may be available.
Requirements
- Previous friction crane operating experience required.
- Experience operating cranes in construction, marine construction, barge operations, or a similar environment.
- Current/valid crane operator certification.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to identify or troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Valid drivers license.
- Must possess a valid driving license is required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical duties associated with crane operation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
- Strong commitment to workplace and job-site safety.
