Position Summary
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the daycare's mission by providing high-quality care, maintaining a safe environment, complying with all applicable regulations, and working collaboratively with staff and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Assists with daily classroom activities.
· Supports lesson implementation.
· Supervises children indoors and outdoors.
· Assists with meals, hygiene, and transitions.
· Maintains classroom organization.
· Observes and reports child progress.
· Ensures health and safety practices.
· Communicates professionally.
· Maintains confidentiality.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred where applicable).
- Meet all state licensing requirements.
- Pass required background checks.
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stand, sit on the floor, move quickly to supervise children, and work indoors and outdoors.
Work Environment
Fast-paced childcare environment requiring continuous interaction with children, families, and staff while maintaining safety and professionalism.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
