Police Department Administrative Specialist/Municipal Court Assistant

Job Overview
The Administrative Specialist will assist the Police Chief with day-to-day
administrative duties, which are crucial to a functional Police
Department. The secondary duty of this position would be assisting the Municipal Clerk of Court. To achieve success in this role, a team based
approach must always be considered. An emphasis will be placed
on initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities
Police Department Duties
· Receives citation payments and processes them in accordance with department policy.
· Provides customer service and assistance to walk-in visitors.
· Assists with walk-in reports, as applicable.
· Assists with purchase orders for the Police Department and Municipal Court.
· Assists the state certification manager, if that directive is assigned.
· Assists with the Police Department’s monthly fuel report.
· Assists with open records requests, as needed.
· Performs NIBRS data entry responsibilities.
· Performs GCIC billing procedures.
· Assists with GCIC background checks as needed based on workload; when such situations arise, the Chief of Police shall be notified.
· Maintains status as a credible witness in court proceedings.
Municipal Court Duties
· Completes citation intake each morning, Monday through Friday.
· Assists with court preparation.
· Is assigned to the Municipal Court on each day court is in session.
· Assists with Failure to Appear (FTA) releases, as needed.
· Assists with jail releases involving bond payments, as needed.
· Accepts court payments during regular office hours.
· Assists the Court Clerk with court-related duties, as needed.
· Accepts payments during court sessions.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Completion of high school or G.E.D. certificate supplemented by various experience,
education and training which provide the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities. Shall be well versed in Open Record Request laws. Must successfully complete GCIC Security and Awareness training as well as GCIC Network Operator training.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Must have an acceptable criminal history, which satisfies the requirements to be a credible witness in court proceedings.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
