We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team and provide exceptional support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist clients with daily activities, monitor their well-being, and promote independence in a safe, respectful environment. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and confidentiality
- Help with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition tailored to individual needs
- Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with patient transfers using proper manual handling techniques
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and infection control practices
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any changes in condition accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to assist with ADLs using proper manual handling and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to hospice care or autism support are a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in caregiving duties
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of client information
