Responsibilities: A senior project engineer (SPE) contributes to the success of our firm primarily as a fairly independent producer, over time increasing their scope to managing projects and a project team. The SPE ensures effective, efficient project delivery using strong critical thinking, excellent internal and external communication skills, and sound engineering judgment, while holding an awareness of the overall arc and budget of each project, as well as their implications for project delivery.
The SPE is expected to deliver small projects independently and take an active role in delivering larger, more complex projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
Depending on experience and position, responsibilities include: creating and/or revising calculations, drawings, and specifications; planning and performing all necessary tasks on smaller projects and coordinating with other project engineers and the project manager on larger projects; managing personal time and effort in completing assigned tasks; and coordinating the tasks required to complete project assignments in a timely fashion and within budget. The SPE also actively contributes to and helps shape the health and effectiveness of project teams, and becomes a technical resource to the overall office.
Compensation: The starting salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000, before any eligible bonuses. Salaries are based on factors such as geographic location, experience, expertise, education and skills. Tipping is committed to compensation equity with respect to our current employees when making offers of employment.
