Job Title: Pro-Shop Manager

Reports To: Golf Course General Manager

SUMMARY
Manage all aspects of pro shop operations, including marketing, merchandising, personnel, and the scheduling of tee times and the coordination of league play and tournament play.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Promotes Golf Club for daily fee play, league play, tournament play, the sale of retail goods in the pro-shop, “stay & play” programs. Suggest, create, and implement any new programs which will increase profitability for the Golf Club with special emphasis on providing excellent customer service.
Always maintain organization of merchandise and the cleanliness of the pro-shop.
Manage all facets of the retail pro-shop sales including selecting and qualifying equipment vendors; making recommendations to the general manager regarding inventory levels and mark-ups.
Protect against theft and shortages; keeping and verifying accurate inventory.
Convey a welcoming attitude to all guests to ensure they have an enjoyable experience.
Manage and train personnel on pro-shop processes and procedures, make hiring and termination decisions for hourly labor for the positions of counter clerks /cashiers, cart attendants, starters, marshals, and any other personnel needed to run pro shop operations.
Approves expenditures within their area of responsibility ensuring budget compliance and proper accounting information.
Complete all daily reconciliations required; reports cash proceeds in bank account. Cash deposits are made daily for the day of operation.
Investigate and identify a detailed accounting of all variances in the reporting. Communicate the findings to the accounting department.
Assists in building and presenting the detailed budget plan for the entire golf operation.
Develop and execute daily start-up and shut-down checklists so that the course is ready for the first golfer each day as well as properly closed and made ready for the next day’s operations.
Engages with the Crossgates Community residents creating events (golf and non-golf) that enhance the harmony and overall experience offered by the Golf Club.
Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise both seasonal hourly labor required for pro-shop operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems including termination.
Supervise, direct and train staff of employees (i.e. golf shop personnel, rangers, starters, cart attendants) to perform the duties and meet requirements for providing exceptional customer service for sales, rentals, and services.
Supervise speed of play on course as dictated by policy set by the Owner.
REQUIREMENETS AND QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or, 4 - 6 years of experience in golf course operations or related experience and/or training.
· Must be highly organized and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Energetic, outgoing, and professional with a willingness to provide a high level of customer service in a busy, constantly changing environment.
· Self-motivated
· Proficiency in golf-specific computer software (Tee Snap, Golf Now), Microsoft Excel, Word, Email
- Have a valid driver's license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, as well as the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
ATTIRE
Wear a monogrammed Crossgates Polo/Collared shirt and acceptable dress slacks/pants/golf shorts.

Pay: $875.00 - $1,500.00 per week
