1st Shift | $20.00 per hour | Overtime Available
We are seeking a reliable Wire Technician Associate to join a manufacturing team on first shift. Candidates with previous manufacturing or production experience are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.
This position is responsible for manufacturing superconducting wire products according to established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards. The Wire Technician Associate will operate production equipment, inspect products, record production information, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor multiple production machines and processes
- Clean, insulate, process, and inspect superconducting wire
- Load and unload wire spools and production materials
- Weigh materials and maintain chemical baths
- Perform visual, mechanical, electrical, and quality inspections
- Use micrometers and other measuring or testing equipment
- Perform electrical and quality assurance testing
- Operate production ovens and other manufacturing equipment
- Adjust or replace machine parts as needed
- Troubleshoot basic production and equipment issues
- Clean and lubricate machinery
- Handle bare wire and other delicate products carefully
- Move and store raw materials and finished products
- Prepare finished products for shipment
- Complete production records and traceability documentation accurately
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, work orders, and operating instructions
- Work overtime when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Basic mechanical and computer skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to use production tools and read a micrometer
- Good hand-eye coordination, vision, and physical dexterity
- Ability to track and accurately record production results
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines
- Previous wire processing experience, including drawing, extrusion, or cabling, is a plus
