Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician/Caregiver to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized resident care, assist with medication administration, and support individuals in various care settings. Duties
- Safely administer prescribed medications following all state healthcare regulations and facility protocols, including oral, topical, and injectable medications
- Assist residents with daily personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice care by implementing individualized care plans
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical documentation
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being
- Perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers, adhering to proper body mechanics and safety standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices
- Certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential recognized by the State Board of Nursing is required
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease
- Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation purposes
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety standards for self and residents
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and caregivers while maintaining resident dignity and respect
- Level 2 Background Screening
- CNA Cross-trained Preferred
