The Opportunity
Geerpres has been making high-quality cleaning equipment since 1935. We're a well-established manufacturer with a loyal customer base in healthcare, foodservice, hospitality, and clean-room industries; steady, stable, and built to last, much like the people we're hoping will lead this team.
This role is a great fit for someone who has already put in the time at a larger company, has proven their capabilities, and is looking for a role with real substance, without the politics, the pace, or the pressure of corporate life. You'll report directly to the Operations Director, and you'll have the latitude to run things the way years of experience have taught you they should be run. No committees to convince, no red tape to cut through, just a well-run small business that values your judgment and wants you to keep using it.
What You'll Own
Supply Chain & Purchasing
- Supplier relationships, sourcing strategy, and negotiations
- Purchasing, inventory management, and material planning (MRP)
- Cost reduction initiatives and purchase price forecasting
- Supplier evaluation, qualification, and risk assessment
- Contracts and commercial terms with our supply base
Operations & Distribution
- Shipping, receiving, packing, logistics, facilities, and quality
- Inventory control, planning, and warehouse management
- Lean process improvement
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Customer Service to keep material costs, specs, and delivery on track
- Set and track KPIs for inventory, supply chain performance/quality
- Support new product development from a sourcing and materials standpoint
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of supply chain management experience, ideally including time at a larger company — you've already built the skill set, and you're looking for a place to use it, not prove it
- A bachelor's degree in supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience — we care more about what you know than where you learned it)
- A calm, steady hand with suppliers — the kind of credibility that comes from having done this a long time
- Comfort with an MRP/ERP system (NetSuite experience is a plus, but not a dealbreaker — we're happy to get you up to speed)
- Someone who thinks like an owner and is decisive, hands-on when needed, and continually looking to improve the process
- A clear, direct communicator who earns trust easily, whether with leadership, suppliers, or the folks on the shop floor
Why This Role
This isn't about grinding toward the next title or proving yourself all over again. It's a chance to bring years of hard-earned know-how to a company that will actually listen to it and to do meaningful, visible work at a pace that leaves room for the rest of your life too. You'll have real ownership and a real voice, without the churn of a big corporate environment. It's steady, respected work with a company built to last.
We're looking for someone dependable, self-disciplined, and comfortable wearing many hats — someone with an entrepreneurial streak who understands that ownership means responsibility.
