EXAMPLE OF DUTIES This position performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of specialized machinery and equipment at any or all of the municipal public works treatment plants and facilities; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. Work may be specialized according to the assigned division.
Essential Functions

Performs inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs of pump stations and other utility treatment and storage tank facilities and systems.

Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, electronic, and SCADA problems; performs necessary repairs.

Maintains pumps, valves, blowers, filters, screens, emergency motors, generators, and other equipment.

Performs inspection and maintenance of pumping stations and other facilities; repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and equipment.

Operates vacuum/jet truck and other equipment.

Inspects and maintains tools, equipment, and vehicles for proper use and care.

Performs other public utilities maintenance work as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Work Environment
Work is performed inside and outside under environmental conditions such as extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, oils, working in confined spaces, and wearing an appropriate respiratory protection device as necessary. The worker may be exposed to blood borne and/or waterborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
