HR Consultant - Generalist
At DPx, we partner with growing businesses to build people-first organizations. We're looking for an HR Generalist Consultant who brings deep technical knowledge across all areas of human resources - and who, above all, cares deeply about doing things right for the people and companies they serve.
What you'll do
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to our clients - understanding their business, their people challenges, and their goals before prescribing any solution.
- Lead and support HR compliance work across key areas: employee files, employment contracts, I-9s, leave accruals, ASUME registration, required postings, and workplace safety.
- Build and refine HR processes: onboarding, employee handbooks, internal protocols, performance management, and disciplinary procedures.
- Handle critical and high-impact situations with discretion, sound judgment, and a calm, structured approach.
- Visit clients on-site across the island to conduct assessments, deliver training, support implementations, and build relationships in person.
- Collaborate with the internal DPx team openly - sharing knowledge, flagging issues early, and contributing to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Who you are
- You are genuinely passionate about HR - not just as a function, but as a lever that shapes cultures and transforms businesses.
- You put clients first - not just technically, but genuinely. You listen before you advise, and you measure your success by theirs.
- You don't cut corners. When you take on a task, you take it seriously - the quality of your work reflects who you are.
- You stay current. Labor law in Puerto Rico evolves, best practices shift, and you actively seek to keep your knowledge sharp and relevant.
- You communicate directly, with honesty and clarity - with clients and with your team. No surprises, no hidden balls.
- You're comfortable being autonomous, managing your own schedule, and owning your portfolio of clients without needing to be micromanaged.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in HR, ideally in a generalist or consulting capacity.
- Strong command of Puerto Rico labor law and federal employment regulations.
- Fluent in Spanish and English - both written and verbal.
- Own vehicle and availability to travel to clients across Puerto Rico.
Work setup
This is a hybrid role - you'll work remotely for much of your time, with regular in-person visits to client sites across the island. We offer flexibility, but we hold ourselves to a high standard of responsiveness, follow-through, and professionalism with every client.
If you're the kind of HR professional who takes pride in your craft, builds real relationships with clients, and is always looking to grow - we'd love to hear from you.
