Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure that equipment is safely operating and meets its intended use by optimizing equipment up-time. The purpose of the maintenance employee is to make scheduled and unscheduled repairs on all machines and related equipment used in manufacturing. Reports administratively to the Operations Manager; functional reporting responsibilities extend to both the Operations Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the position.
-Associate degree preferred but will consider technical education with courses in Hydraulic circuits, HVAC, blueprint reading, components repairs and/or Electrical circuits, or comparable experience (Must have High School Diploma or GED).
- 5+years of skilled trade experience working on machinery, or equivalent technical education, provided the skill set aligns with job requirements.
- Familiar with the principles of hydraulics, electricity and pneumatics.
- Must be hands-on person, capable of troubleshooting and repairing circuits using schematics, blueprints and sketches.
-Ability to properly use equipment and tools to check and repair machinery.
-Familiar with OSHA and Industry Safety Standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment, machinery, tools and document PM program.
- Assist with mold setting and processing.
-Review and inspect equipment daily for safe and proper operating conditions.
-Do repairs, maintenance, and upkeep on machinery, equipment, building and facility.
-Assist with major job repairs to machine, equipment or components when needed.
-Submit requests to Operations Manager for authorization for machine replacement parts, equipment or components.
-Follow all safety precautions on repairs to equipment, machinery and tools per OSHA requirements.
-Follow all environmental procedures concerning spills, containment and disposal of hazardous materials.
-Follows all safety, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures. Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
