Compensation: $35-$40/hour DOE
Job Description: Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator to join our paving crew. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, takes pride in quality workmanship, and works well in a team-oriented environment. We do a lot of patching and driveways, so we are NOT looking for someone that refuses to get off the paver. Strong potential for promotion to paving foreman. Our crews consistently get overtime.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and control the screed on an asphalt paver to ensure proper depth, width, and grade
- Work closely with the paving crew to maintain consistent material flow and surface quality
- Monitor temperature, thickness, and alignment of asphalt during application
- Make necessary adjustments to the screed for optimal results
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures on job sites
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an asphalt screed operator or similar role
- Strong understanding of paving operations and equipment
- Ability to read grade stakes and understand project specifications
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
