Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sheetfed Die Cutter Operator to set up, operate, and maintain high-speed sheetfed die cutting equipment used in paperboard packaging (non-corrugated) production.
This role requires prior hands-on experience with sheetfed Bobst die cutters for folding cartons, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities for Sheetfed Die Cutter Operator
- Set up and operate sheetfed die cutting machines with precision and efficiency
- Review order specifications and ensure all production materials are ready prior to setup
- Optimize utilization of master sheets to meet customer specifications
- Perform machine adjustments, blade changes, and preventative maintenance
- Inspect finished product for dimensional accuracy and quality compliance
- Identify defective materials and communicate issues to supervision
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues (jamming, wrinkling, tearing)
- Complete production and maintenance documentation via PC or tablet
- Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and improve quality
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Train and support team members as needed
Required Qualifications for Sheetfed Die Cutter Operator
- Experience operating a sheetfed Bobst die cutter for folding cartons (required)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and production schedules
- Basic math skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic PC skills for production reporting
Preferred Skills for Sheetfed Die Cutter Operator
- Experience in paperboard packaging or print manufacturing
- Familiarity with cutting software and production systems
- Preventative maintenance and machine troubleshooting experience
- Strong problem-solving and quality control mindset
