Part-Time Caregiver – Third Shift !!
The Part-Time Third Shift Caregiver provides overnight, compassionate, and attentive care to elderly residents in an assisted living or long-term care facility. This role is essential in ensuring residents remain safe, comfortable, and well-supported during nighttime hours while maintaining a calm and secure environment. The caregiver works independently and as part of the care team to respond to resident needs and monitor overall well-being throughout the night.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct personal care to residents during overnight hours, including assistance with toileting, incontinence care, repositioning, and comfort support.
- Conduct routine safety rounds throughout the facility to ensure residents are safe and secure.
- Respond promptly to call lights, alarms, or resident requests during the night.
- Assist residents with mobility needs, transfers, or emergency situations as required.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents’ physical, mental, or emotional condition.
- Provide emotional reassurance and comfort to residents who may experience anxiety, confusion, or sleep disturbances.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, incidents, and observations during the shift.
- Ensure resident rooms, common areas, and workspaces remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with oncoming morning shift staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with early morning care routines such as hygiene, dressing, and preparation for breakfast as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous caregiving, CNA, or healthcare experience preferred but not always required.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision.
- Strong observation skills and ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
- Compassion, patience, and respect for elderly residents.
- Reliable, responsible, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, turning, and assisting residents safely.
Schedule:
Part-Time, Third Shift.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift. Ability to remain alert and responsive during overnight hours is essential.
