Role Objective: As an EHS Specialist, you will be the driving force behind safety and environmental excellence in our facility. Your mission is to ensure every team member goes home safe every day, while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and legal requirements.
What will your day look like?

Partner with multiple departments to identify hazards and uncover opportunities for safety improvements.

Lead and conduct investigations for all incidents and accidents, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Coordinate and deliver engaging safety training to keep our workforce informed and empowered.
-
Actively coach operations teams—attend meetings, conduct facility inspections, and investigate incidents alongside leadership.

Perform inspection audits on processes and equipment to ensure all safety standards are met.

Align efforts of consultants with manufacturing, maintenance, and tooling schedules.

Promote team involvement activities to improve safety systems and boost operational efficiency.
-
Track and analyze safety data to identify trends, providing actionable insights to operational teams (KPI tracking).

Manage workers’ compensation cases, coordinating with employees, medical providers, and leadership to support timely and safe return-to-work.

Conduct Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) audits to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
-
Track corrective actions to ensure timely closure of safety findings and audit results.

Deliver EHS training to employees across all departments.
-
Lead the annual review and update of EHS policies to maintain ongoing compliance.

Take on additional responsibilities as needed—this role evolves as our department grows and adapts.
Environmental Responsibilities
-
Manage ISO 14001 program, including internal and external compliance audits.
-
Develop environmental metrics for sustainability and corporate initiatives.
-
Maintain monthly spreadsheets for GHG emissions and ensure adherence to compliance reporting calendars.
-
Serve as Gatekeeper for SWPPP & BMP plans (renewals, quarterly audits, training).
-
Oversee SPCC plan and monthly audits.
-
Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including:
-
Semi-annual Emission Surveys (Air Permit compliance)
-
Annual Compliance Certification (DEP 7007CC)
-
Annual TRI Form R reporting
-
Annual Tier 2 reporting
-
Quarterly Wastewater & E-Coat reports (HWEA permit compliance)
-
Semi-annual Storm Water reporting
-
Facilitate semi-annual opacity training for environmental technicians.
-
Complete corporate environmental tracking spreadsheets (monthly LV spreadsheet for sales, hazardous & nonhazardous waste, water, metal scrap, landfill, recycling, air emissions, and frame builds).

Maintain monthly usage spreadsheets for ovens/boilers, wire, chemicals, and water.
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree EHS or occupational safety or in a related field with 2–5 years of experience, OR 2–5 years of Health Environmental or Safety experience in manufacturing (required).

Experience in wastewater treatment
-
Experience with OSHA 300 log
-
Automotive industry or manufacturing experience preferred.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
-
Strong understanding of automated manufacturing processes.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
-
Solid knowledge of OSHA/EPA/ANSI regulations (OSHA 30 preferred).
-
First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Team Player & Communication Skills
-
Basic knowledge of chemical and hazardous waste management.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and use hands for various tasks.

Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs., carry, stand, walk, and reach as needed.

Average vision abilities required for various tasks.
