Position Summary
The Freight Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining a seamless global supply chain by managing the end-to-end movement of goods. This position is responsible for the strategic oversight of port-to-door delivery, ensuring that import and export operations are executed with precision, compliance, and cost-efficiency. From navigating complex U.S. Customs regulations to managing carrier claims and tracking outbound performance, the Freight Coordinator serves as the central link between international vendors, local carriers, and the end customer.
Essential Functions

- Port-to-Door Import Management: orchestrate port-to-door delivery schedules, ensuring timely pickup from terminals and efficient final-mile delivery to the warehouse.
- Export Logistics and Packing: Coordinate export shipments, including picking and packing materials.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for US Customs Clearance by preparing and auditing the necessary documents for import and export filings to mitigate delays or penalties.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain Specialists to track shipments and upcoming shipping requirements.
- Process and resolve carrier loss or damage claims.
- Monitor outbound customer shipments and maintain KPIs to measure carrier performance, lead times and delivery accuracy.
- Identify, resolve, and respond to shipping and logistics issues. o Coordinate changes to shipping schedules based on priorities.
- Make decisions on a shipment-by-shipment basis maintaining service standards, profitability and fairness to customers.
- Maintain a constant sense of urgency in moving freight without sacrificing accuracy and quality.
- Identify opportunities for improved network design in transportation.
- Support the Operations & Shipping Teams as needed.
- Act as a good steward of the Company’s resources (human, financial, equipment, knowledge) and exemplify the values of the Company.
- Support project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
- Support the research of market trends in freight and brokerage and make recommendations.
- Support the negotiation with carriers and service providers. o Complete status reports for supply progress, material movement lead times, etc.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2-5 years of experience in shipping or logistics.
- Global Logistics or equivalent certification.
Skills/Ability Expectations
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and customs requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
- Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Strong computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite technology.
- Ability to learn new software quickly and utilize it efficiently.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position in the facility, hours are 11:00AM - 7:30PM.
Travel
Some local travel expected as needed.
