The Nurse for the Psychiatric and Primary Care Services Program participates with providers in providing and managing the mental health/primary care needs of Ravenwood Health clients. The Nurse provides nursing services including medication teaching and general health monitoring/screening and helps with coordination of care with other health care providers. Under the supervision of the provider, the nurse assists with the assessment and ongoing medication management for those clients receiving psychiatric/medical care. The nurse assists with the Central Pharmacy medications, coordination, and provides organizational support to the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer active Nurse Line, and Primary Care telephone line, triage, and communicate with providers as needed for medication refills, medication concerns, prior authorizations, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge and remain current on information pertaining to mental health treatment.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently.
- Is effective in assessing and responding to client’s needs and problems.
- Regularly attend professional staff meetings.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills by returning and responding to phone calls or emails within 24 hours and other correspondence in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate good decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Maintains electronic health records as required.
- Is dependable in attendance.
- Demonstrates initiative and contributes to ideas and suggestions to improve program operations and quality improvement.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Teams, Outlook and ECR, Carelogic, with provided training.
- Effectively maintains appropriate boundaries in accordance with HIPAA.
- Demonstrates competency in medical assistant skills, including obtaining vital signs, obtaining laboratory specimens, performing point-of-care testing, and documenting results accurately.
- Demonstrates knowledge of infection-control practices, universal precautions, and proper handling of specimens and clinical materials.
- Able to recognize and communicate changes in client condition, urgent concerns, or abnormal findings to the appropriate provider or clinical team member.
Demonstrates competency in medication-related support tasks, including medication reconciliation assistance, refill request coordination, and accurate communication with providers.

Required Education and Experience
- Current and valid Ohio Nursing License
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Must be able to pass an FBI/BCI background check
Preferred Education and Experience
- Mental health Experience is preferred
- Drug and Alcohol knowledge/experience is a plus
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Ancillary training/certifications: CPR, First-Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Maintain ongoing continued education as required
- All employees who provide mental health services shall be qualified to provide those services according to Chapter 5122-23 of the administrative code.
- Clinical services can be only provided by staff members who have their license verified and have been approved by the Competency Assessment Committee and/or are privileged by the Board of Directors, or who are working under the supervision of a staff member whose competency has been approved and/or they are a privileged staff member.
