Key Responsibilities
- Material Installation:Install various types of roofing materials (shingles, EPDM, metal) and siding systems (vinyl, Hardie, LP Smartside) on exterior walls of buildings.
- Material Preparation:Measure, cut, and shape roofing and siding materials to fit specific dimensions and blueprints.
- Surface Preparation:Remove old, damaged, or worn roofing and siding materials to prepare surfaces for new installations.
- Finishing Work:Install flashing, gutters, and other trim components, and seal joints and gaps with caulking to ensure a weatherproof finish.
- Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and use appropriate fall protection equipment when working at heights.
- Equipment Operation:Safely operate various hand and power tools, including nail guns, utility knives, and potentially manlifts or scissor lifts.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Physical Demands:Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, maintain sure footing at heights, and perform strenuous activities such as climbing, kneeling, and lifting heavy materials (up to 50-80 lbs).
- Technical Skills:Proficiency with hand and power tools and knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and local building codes.
- Attention to Detail:Meticulousness in measuring, cutting, and installing materials to ensure high-quality workmanship and a precise fit.
- Teamwork:Ability to collaborate effectively with a team to complete projects on time and to high standards.
- Manual Dexterity:The fine motor skills required to handle small parts, use tools precisely, and work with precision.
- Driver's License:A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are often required for site access.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
