Duties
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in assembling dishes with precision and consistency, adhering to recipe guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations by following strict sanitation and food safety protocols
- Support meal preparation for various service periods, ensuring timely delivery of quality food
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow safety standards in production and food handling to uphold health regulations and prevent cross-contamination
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and adherence to safety standards in production
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and catering is advantageous
