CRG Automation is an innovative custom automation and packaging equipment integrator, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, and poised to expand our presence in the evolving consumer products and industrial automation markets. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to add value to the continued growth of the business.
Our product portfolio includes robotic and custom automation systems, top load and end load cartoners, product infeeds, case packing, rebuilt and retrofit packaging equipment, controls upgrades, and integrated end-of-line solutions. All machinery is designed, fabricated, and assembled at our Louisville manufacturing facility and then optionally installed and tested at customer sites. While individual machines can be supplied as standalone solutions, CRG places strong, continued emphasis on delivering fully integrated systems for our valued customers.
The Project Manager plans, schedules, and coordinates all phases of project execution — from kickoff through installation, startup, client acceptance, and closeout — serving as the primary point of accountability for project safety, scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Own overall project delivery — safety, scope, cost, schedule, quality, information management, client acceptance, and closeout — across assigned projects.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to ensure collaboration, cooperation, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead regularly scheduled customer update meetings, providing clear, honest reporting on project status, risks, and open items.
- Proactively identify issues before they become problems and drive timely resolution throughout the project.
- Ensure projects are executed in compliance with CRG and/or client workflow and design standards.
- Track project cost, schedule, and progress using Wrike (or similar) and related project management and cost reporting tools; flag overruns early and lead corrective action planning.
- Work with Accounting to develop clear spend and revenue forecasting.
- Manage development of execution and testing plans, and oversee installation through startup and commissioning activities.
- Support the competitive bidding and procurement process for equipment and subcontracted scope, including pre-bid and post-bid meetings.
- Generate and manage equipment manuals
- Serve as the technical gatekeeper for project content, coordinating review with subject matter experts as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, from an ABET-accredited program, or an equivalent combination of experience and training providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, including at least 3 years in project management; experience with custom automation or capital equipment projects is a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite; experience with project management platforms such as Wrike is preferred.
- Strong facilitator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attentiveness to detail, follow-up, and documentation of project actions and decisions.
- Some travel required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
This is a salaried, exempt position, and we are proud to offer a competitive benefits package. The successful candidate will reside in the Louisville, KY area and report to the VP Operations. A pre-employment drug screen and background check must be successfully completed.
