Seeking a Chemical Process Engineer for a high growth chemical manufacturing client in the Piscataway, NJ area.
The Chemical Process Engineer would be responsible for supporting the design, development, scale-up, commissioning, and continuous improvement of chemical manufacturing processes and equipment from laboratory development through pilot plant and commercial production. Working under the guidance of senior process engineers and project leaders, this position performs process calculations, prepares engineering documentation, supports pilot plant experimentation, analyzes manufacturing data, and assists with the execution of capital projects and process improvement initiatives.

responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, scale-up, and implementation of chemical manufacturing processes

Assist with the preparation and review of process engineering deliverables

Support the design and modification of chemical manufacturing facilities, process skids, reaction systems, mixing systems, filtration systems, material-transfer systems, storage tanks, utility systems, etc.
- Support the selection, specification, and evaluation of process equipment, including reactors, vessels, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering or related field required; Master's preferred.

Experience: 1+ years in chemical process development, scale-up, or manufacturing. Specialty/electronic chemicals or batch processing experience preferred.

Technical & Analytical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in process calculations (mass/energy balances, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, sizing) and data analytics for root cause analysis and optimization.

Documentation & Troubleshooting: knowledge of engineering docs (PFDs, P&IDs, Plant 3D, specs, control narratives) and proven skills in reaction chemistry and complex troubleshooting.

Standards & Compliance: Basic understanding of industry standards and regulatory frameworks (API, ASME, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, PSM).
