What You'll Do
As a DSP/SSP, you will:
- Provide hands-on personal care and support with daily healthcare routines
- Assist with safe transfers, including chair-to-mat and bathtub transfers
- Utilize mechanical lift equipment to ensure safety (training provided)
- Support communication using a tablet-based communication system
- Encourage independence and participation in home and community activities
- Assist with daily living skills and personal goals
- Follow individualized support plans using instruction, modeling, physical assistance, and positive reinforcement
- Monitor health, safety, and well-being during shifts
- Adapt calmly and effectively to changing support needs
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely perform physical transfers and assist with lifting requirements up to 155 pounds
- Strong reliability, patience, and professional judgment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and support instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to successfully pass required background checks
- Reliable transportation and residence within reasonable driving distance of Mount Joy, PA

Schedule Requirements (Please Read Carefully)
All new staff begin training on the 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM shift.
Available Shifts
- Day Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Applicants must be flexible with scheduling. To ensure adaquete coverage and support, no fixed schedule is availible
Hours
- Part-time position
- Approximately 15-20 hours per week
- Additional hours may occasionally be available
- No full-time hours available
Availability Requirements
- Must be available for required orientation and training shifts. Training shifts are evening 4pm to 9pm
- Must be able to work at least one weekend day per month
