Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages.
The Peer Recovery Coach will spend time in the community with clients problem solving utilizing standardized screening tools and reaching identified goals. Assisting in care coordination activities with other treatment team members is key to the position using a multiple-pathways philosophy.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday 4:00pm - 12:30am.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) training/certificate
- Three year Peer Recovery Coach experience,
- Chauffer’s license (or obtain one at time of hire)
- Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) Development Plan through MCBAP
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical
- Works on a team with a qualified mental health professional.
- Able to drive throughout the service area to co-respond for requested services with Law Enforcement and or other community stakeholders.
- Help to initiate and sustain an individual in their recovery from substance abuse or addiction through a non-clinical, peer-based support program.
- Complete face-to-face screenings for clients using standardized screening tools.
- Complete documentation on all client contacts made or initiated.
- Complete Care Plans with clients.
- Assist client by making warm connections/transfers to services both internal and external.
- Work with clients to identify barriers to successfully making changes and assist the client in problem solving.
- Monitor daily referral notifications and arrange same-day introduction meetings with clients during shift.
- Facilitate contacts and provide warm transfers with appropriate support organizations, and support people.
- Must be able and willing to drive to various locations around Wayne County and Washtenaw County for visitation of clients in confidential locations (e.g. support groups, therapy).
- Attend regular team meetings to discuss client progress and barriers.
Interpersonal
- Conduct all professional business in a manner.
- Maintain collegial, cooperative relationships with staff.
- Must be able to integrate into multi-disciplinary treatment teams to assist in the continuum of care provided to the client.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.40 - $20.40 per hour
