Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Server to join our vibrant restaurant team! Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clarity and attention to detail
- Provide expert recommendations on menu items, including wine pairings and cocktail options, to enhance guest satisfaction
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items including spirits, cocktails, desserts, and specialty beverages to maximize sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems and process sales transactions efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables promptly and adhering to food safety protocols
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any service issues promptly
- Engage with guests to foster positive relationships, address concerns professionally, and ensure an enjoyable dining experience
- Assist with food handling, wine knowledge sharing, and basic math calculations as needed for accurate billing
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred; fine dining experience is a plus
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail preparation, and food industry standards
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and sales transactions accurately
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is beneficial but not required
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
