Job Overview
RL Canning is seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will perform complex professional and advisory functions with regard to installing, maintaining, operating, and administering Unix-based operating systems and IBM software products.
The US base hourly range for this full-time position is $70.00 to $75.00 per hour W2, along with a comprehensive benefits package detailed in the “Benefits Offered” section of the job description. The hourly wage offered within this range will be influenced by factors such as work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. During the hiring process, your recruiter will provide more specific information about the salary range, considering these factors. In this role, you will
- Perform monitoring and analysis of systems-related events and operations.
- Monitor system activities and performance to determine the operational condition of systems, including utilization, capacity, transactions, load, traffic, errors, events, and alerts.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and diagnoses complex system-related problems to determine priority, response, resolution, or escalation required related to impact on business operations.
- Plans and coordinates installations, modifications, and upgrades with team members and business leaders to minimize downtime and maximize performance to the business.
- Performs systems testing to ensure systems configuration, changes, and conditions are in accordance with operating policy, standards, procedures, and revisions.
- Performs and administers backup and recovery systems, processes, and procedures to ensure systems applications, software, configurations, and data can be retrieved in the event of a fault according to policy and standards of the business.
- Logs, tracks, and ensure incidents, requests, and changes are handled according to agreed procedures and service levels, including supporting documentation.
- Applies change management techniques and methods to support the integration, adoption, and utilization of technology resources.
- Perform other tasks as necessary to support and achieve business objectives.
For this role, you will need
- Minimum of 5+ years of systems configuration and administration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field strongly desired.
- Strong experience with IBM WebSphere (Installing, configuring, administering) required.
- Experience working within a Unix AIX and/or SUSE Linux enterprise required.
- Configuration experience with the IBM Identity and Access Management systems (including TIM, TAM, and WebSEAL).
- Strong scripting experience, with strong knowledge of any scripting language (JavaScript or C# preferred).
- Strong knowledge of system monitoring and maintenance.
- Experience with Windows Server, VMware, Oracle IAM/IAM, SailPoint Knowledge,
- JAVA/JavaScript or C# preferred.
- Puppet knowledge
- Willingness to travel as needed to support client projects and corporate responsibilities.
