Operates heavy equipment such as a tractor with a ditcher to regrade ditches on state right of ways.
Operates small equipment such as a trailer mounted pipe washer.
Operates heavy equipment such as large motor graders in ditching, shoulder operations.
Operates heavy equipment such as a front-end loader and backhoe to clean out drainage ditches and to install sideline and cross line pipes.
Operates medium equipment such as a tandem dump truck in hauling maintenance and construction materials such as concrete pipes, asphalt, dirt, etc.
Operates truck mounted plows and sand spreaders in snow and ice removal as necessary.
Assists with emergency and inclement weather operations, may include extended hours and/or 12-hour shifts.
One (1) year of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
The physical demands for the essential functions involves bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather.
