Overview
Looking for highly organized, self-motivated person who can work in a fast paced environment. Must have experience in customer service, drafting, and coordinating calendars.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with legal research using research tools to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and discovery materials with precision and clarity.
- Manage case files using document management systems like MyCase; ensure all documents are organized, accurate, and up-to-date.
- Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to maintain high-quality standards for all legal materials.
- Support litigation processes through data entry, filing, and maintaining procedural deadlines across various practice areas including general & commercial litigation and personal injury law.
- Coordinate client interviews and witness statements while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing phone etiquette, and providing executive administrative support as needed.
- Conduct legal research on specialized topics such as UCC law, tribal regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, immigration law, landlord-tenant issues, family law matters, securities regulations, and procedural law.
- Support attorneys in project management tasks related to complex cases or ongoing legal initiatives.
- Maintain meticulous records of case activities and correspondence to ensure compliance with procedural requirements.
Experience
- Prior paralegal experience or legal administrative experience in a busy law office setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury cases, tribal regulations, and general litigation.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis is essential.
- Experience with document review systems like iManage or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information discreetly with professionalism.
- Familiarity with procedural laws and familiarity with case management software such as PCLaw is a plus.
- Effective communication skills combined with excellent phone etiquette for interacting with clients and team members.
