Duties
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and forklifts for long-haul deliveries.
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times while complying with all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts, ensuring cargo safety and security during transit.
- Handle hazardous materials or dangerous goods according to hazardous materials regulations when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation for each shipment, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety standards are met before hitting the road.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and freight delivery.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and tractor-trailers.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, tanker cargo, and freight requiring special handling.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) safety standards.
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts or dump trucks.
- Experience with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods.

Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,400.00 per week
