Annual Starting Salary: $38.45 per hour / $79,977 Annually*
- Plus, one step for each full year of previous sworn service up to $51.920673 p/hour / $107,995 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a US citizen at time of application.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent at time of application.
- Must meet all City of Tempe and Arizona POST minimum requirements to test.
- One year of Certified Law Enforcement experience in a municipality, local, county, or state law enforcement agency within a state located in the United States.

- Have at least 20/80 vision correctable to 20/20 with hard contact lenses or glasses; or 20/200 vision correctable to 20/20 with soft contact lenses (at time of application).
- Be of sound physical and mental health.
- Have a valid Arizona driver license by start of employment with the City of Tempe.
- May require the completion of initial police training academy if selected.
- You are required to have a state-issued driver license or identification card, a US passport or a US military identification at all phases in order to test.
- If you are claiming veteran or disabled veteran preference points, you must provide a copy of your DD214 (Member 4 version) for verification.

This position is FLSA Non-Exempt which means employees are eligible for overtime compensation and/or compensatory time
