Field Service Technician – Commercial Generators
Location: Brighton, Colorado
Pay: $34–$45/hour (depending on experience)
Generator Source is hiring highly experienced Field Service Technicians with a strong background in commercial and industrial generators and ATS systems.
This is not a training role. Only candidates with prior, hands-on commercial generator technician experience will be considered.

Requirements (Read Carefully)
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with commercial/industrial generators
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Strong experience across multiple OEM platforms (CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Generac, MTU, Detroit Diesel)
- Advanced troubleshooting and break/fix experience on engines, electrical systems, and controls
- Experience working with and programming ATS systems and controllers
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must pass a background check
- Comfortable using laptops, tablets, and service software (Outlook, Microsoft Office)
- OEM training and/or EGSA certification strongly preferred
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose and perform break/fix repairs on generator systems across multiple platforms
- Troubleshoot and program ATS systems
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, startups, and load bank testing
- Respond to service calls and resolve equipment issues in the field
- Complete accurate and timely service documentation
- Represent Generator Source professionally with customers on-site
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
Physical Requirements
- Field-based role (approximately 85% hands-on work)
- Lift, carry, push, and pull 20–75 lbs regularly
- Climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work around heavy equipment
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Up to 10 hours of driving in a day
- Ability to work extended or irregular hours when necessary
