Scientist – Analytical Plate-Based Assays (ELISA, PCR, Slot Blot)
Location: North Carolina (On-site)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Scientist to join the Analytical Sciences team at a leading pharmaceutical company in North Carolina. This role focuses on performing, optimizing, validating, and supporting analytical plate-based assays in a GMP-regulated laboratory.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ELISA, Slot Blot, PCR, and plate-based analytical assays, along with expertise using SpectraMax instrumentation and SoftMax Pro software. Candidates should have experience supporting analytical method development, validation, troubleshooting, and routine testing within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform analytical plate-based assays including:
- ELISA
- Lowry Assay
- Anthrone Assay
- PCR-based methods
- Execute Slot Blot assays, including:
- Sample preparation
- Membrane processing
- Detection
- Data analysis
- Troubleshooting
- Operate SpectraMax plate readers and utilize SoftMax Pro software for data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
- Support analytical method development, optimization, validation, method transfer, and routine GMP testing.
- Troubleshoot assay performance, including sensitivity, specificity, background interference, variability, and system suitability.
- Perform laboratory instrument calibration, qualification, preventive maintenance, and routine equipment checks.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with cGMP, GDP, and data integrity requirements.
- Support laboratory investigations, deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and technical assessments.
- Collaborate with Analytical Development, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline with 7–8 years of relevant laboratory experience
OR
- Master's degree with 3–4 years of relevant laboratory experience.
