Responsibilities:
- Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Provide support with all personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Safely assist with wheelchair transfers and mobility.
- Assist with meal preparation and monitor eating closely.
- Communicate effectively with an individual who may have difficulty expressing wants and needs.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment
- Work in a dog-friendly home, so applicants must be comfortable around dogs
Qualifications:
- Current, valid CNA license
- Experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) (required)
- Experience with wheelchair assistance and mobility support
- Reliable transportation
- Understanding of person-centered care and effective communication techniques
- Basic sign language skills are a plus, but not required
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the individual's communication style and support needs
Mandatory Requirements:
- Candidates must clear a background check and drug screening
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Shift availability:
- Monday–Friday: 2:30pm-8:30pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 5:30am-8:30pm
- Per Diem
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Developmental Disabilities Experience: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Driver’s Abstract (Required)
- CPR/FA
- Valid NJ CNA certified/license
