The Role
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Opening Shift Team Member to oversee morning café operations. This full-time position is responsible for opening the café, preparing the café for service, delivering exceptional guest experiences, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a fast-paced café environment.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- 5–6 Days per Week
- Weekend and holiday availability required
What You Will Do
Opening & Operations
- Open the café and prepare for daily operations.
- Complete opening and operational checklists.
- Ensure the café is clean, organized, and fully stocked before opening.
- Restock ingredients, supplies, and service items throughout the shift.
Guest Experience
- Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Take customer orders accurately using the POS system.
- Recommend menu items and upsell beverages, desserts, and featured items.
- Deliver outstanding hospitality and resolve guest concerns professionally.
Food & Beverage Preparation
- Prepare specialty coffee, espresso beverages, and other drinks.
- Prepare breakfast items, sandwiches, burgers, crepes, desserts, and other menu offerings according to Dessert Avenue recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain consistency, speed, and quality during busy service periods.
Cleanliness & Food Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
- Follow all sanitation, food handling, and safety procedures.
- Keep workstations stocked, organized, and ready for service throughout the shift.
