Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVAC Lead Technician / Supervisor to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of HVAC technicians, providing guidance on complex system repairs and installations
- Oversee HVAC system installation projects, ensuring adherence to schematics, design specifications, and safety protocols
- Perform detailed troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, electrical systems, boilers, and mechanical components
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and installations
- Manage maintenance schedules for HVAC/R equipment to optimize performance and longevity
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and environmental safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients about system issues and solutions
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs for all work performed
- Assist in property maintenance tasks related to mechanical systems to support overall building operations
Experience
- Proven experience as a construction or service technician specializing in HVAC systems with a strong mechanical background
- Demonstrated expertise in HVAC design principles, system repair, installation, and maintenance procedures
- Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and electrical diagnostics essential for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC operations within commercial or industrial properties
- Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize hand tools effectively for repairs and installations
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience managing a team of technicians is preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL or specialized certifications such as EPA certification are advantageous
- Strong understanding of property maintenance practices related to HVAC/R equipment including boilers and air conditioning units
