HVAC Service Technician
Location: North Chelmsford, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Employment Type: Full-Time OR CONTRACT TO HIRE
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts. This is a highly hands-on position that requires strong electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills.
The ideal candidate will have commercial or industrial HVAC experience, preferably including commercial refrigeration, and will be comfortable diagnosing and repairing complex automated equipment and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems on-site.
- Install, maintain, diagnose, repair, certify, and recalibrate equipment to meet factory specifications and accuracy standards.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on automated industrial equipment.
- Assemble, disassemble, level, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and industrial control-panel drawings.
- Assist with the design, documentation, testing, creation, and modification of computer programs related to machine operating systems.
- Work with new-product development teams to establish inspection and testing processes.
- Define product and system testing and inspection requirements.
- Participate in a collaborative team environment to develop and improve new and existing products.
- Successfully complete warranty troubleshooting and repairs when required.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations at customer sites and manufacturing facilities.
Education and Experience
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, HVAC, HVAC/R, refrigeration, and software-related issues on industrial equipment.
- Commercial or industrial HVAC experience required.
- Commercial refrigeration experience strongly preferred.
- Experience reading control-panel schematics and electrical drawings.
- Experience using test equipment, including multimeters, digital power supplies, and logic analyzers.
- Strong hands-on electro-mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to diagnose both mechanical and electrical control-system issues.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications
- EPA Certification
- NATE Certification
- Journeyman License or Certification
