Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts. The Operator will load materials, monitor machine performance, inspect finished products for quality, and make minor adjustments as needed. This role requires basic mechanical skills, basic math, attention to detail, on-the-job training and a willingness to learn. It's a great starting point for those interested in manufacturing and machining careers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This job includes but is not limited to the following:
- Operate CNC Machine and all assigned machine shop operations.
- Interpret technical drawings and use knowledge to set up metalworking processes, work holding fixtures, process steps, equipment, and tooling selection.
- Regularly milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks are performed.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
- Performs inspection of machined products and documents results.
- Completes and maintains electronic documents for parts.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College CNC Machinist degree / certificate would be considered an asset.
- 0-5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to make independent, technical, and tactical decisions with a high attentiveness to detail.
- Must be able to read and understand written directives.
- Must have strong mathematical skills and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to use measuring instruments.
- Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Light to moderate physical effort is required, including occasional lifting of 50 pounds, frequent lifting of 30 pounds, frequent walking, bending and twisting.
- Excellent work attendance.
- Ability to work overtime.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
