Recovery Coach – Penobscot Place - $19.28 - $20.67/Hr

FT 32 Hr/wk Works collaboratively with Program Director to provide motivational engagement, inspirational support and linkages to community-based recovery networks for people who experience challenges in their day-to-day life due to their relationship with drugs and/or alcohol.
Worksite: Norwich
Hours: Mon, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Tues - Fri, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides motivational engagement and inspirational support to persons in recovery
- Accompanies program participants to appointments and meetings as required to ensure seamless connection and to mitigate premature drop-out of program participation
- Engages with and supports participants as they enter and exit treatment to improve participant’s support network and connection with the recovery community
- Assists program participants in securing inpatient and/or outpatient treatment for substance use concerns, when necessary
- Provides outreach to assist community members struggling with substance use concerns
- Networks with other providers or people in recovery to enhance services available to program participants
- Provides working conditions that maximize safety for coworkers and program participants
- Engages in continuous concerted efforts to access, obtain, or respond to pertinent Agency information and communications and disseminates as appropriate
- Attends and participates in team conferences as required
- Other responsibilities of Reliance Health staff, such as participation in Agency events, adhering to Agency Policy Manuals, etc.
- Other job-related duties as assigned
- Performs duties while demonstrating Agency Core Competencies and Values
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Working knowledge of chemical use, addiction, recovery, and the relapse process
· Current Recovery Coach Professional (RCP), Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) certification preferred or completion thereof within 1 year of employment
· Knowledge of community resources and systems that support basic needs and recovery is preferred
· Lived experience with the recovery process with at least one year, to date, abstinence from the use of illegal drugs/alcohol abuse
· Valid CT Driver’s License, vehicle registration and insurance
· Good driving record
