Overview
The Mental Health Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges. This position involves working closely with patients to provide direct care, assist in therapeutic activities, and ensure a safe and supportive environment. Duties
This is an independent contractor position with no benefits provided and you will receive a 1099 at the end of the year.
- Implement treatment plans as needed to ensure adherence to established protocols.
- Facilitate therapy sessions and engage patients in therapeutic activities.
- Assist in crisis management situations, employing de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and interactions in compliance with facility policies.
Skills
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and their application in a clinical setting.
- Experience in providing direct support within behavioral health environments.
- Familiarity with special education practices and how they can be integrated into mental health care.
- Strong crisis management skills to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
- A background in counseling is required for supporting patients through their mental health needs.
- Masters in mental health counseling or Clinical Social Work is required for this position.
- Looking for LMHCA, LMHC, LICSWA, LICSW, LMFTA, LMFT licensure.
