Acquisition.com is on a mission to make real world business education available to everyone.
At Acquisition.com, we don’t just hire for open roles—we hire for impact. If you’re exceptional at what you do and align with our core values: competitive greatness, sincere candor, and unimpeachable character, we want to know you.
At Acquisition.com, the numbers matter because they tell us exactly where we stand and where we can go next. As our Senior Accountant, you won’t just close the books, you’ll make sure our financials are rock solid, clear, and useful to the people driving the business forward. This is a high-ownership role where precision and speed both count.
You'll own the month-end close process, handle reconciliations across multiple entities and accounts, and work cross-functionally to ensure the business runs on accurate, timely information. Your work won’t just sit in a file - it will shape smarter decisions, sharper execution, and better outcomes across every department. You'll collaborate directly with our Accounting Manager and Controller to produce GAAP-compliant financials, but that’s just the baseline.
We’re looking for someone who can dig into the numbers, spot risks before they become problems, and highlight trends that help us move faster and smarter. This role is for someone who takes pride in accuracy but can also keep pace in a fast-moving environment. You thrive where excellence is the expectation, you know how to connect accounting with the bigger picture of the business, and you want your work to directly impact the growth of companies that are built to last.
Lead the full month-end close cycle, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and reconciliations.

Manage reconciliations related to partner distributions and sales-to-cash tracking.
Partner with the Accounting Manager to maintain documentation, audit trails, and tie-outs for all reconciliations.
Review and improve the corporate card and AP process via Ramp.
Oversee accurate GL coding, approvals, payment timing, and vendor maintenance.
Work with junior team members or external support to delegate transactional tasks, while maintaining full process oversight.
Manage monthly distributions and equity transactions between Acquisition.com and portfolio companies, ensuring accurate financial treatment and cash movement.
Track and report royalty payments due from Portcos; ensure collections and compliance with agreements.

Own internal tracking systems for tax filings, sales tax liabilities, and historical project documentation.
Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
Take ownership of project-based initiatives (e.g., sales tax remediations, Portco onboarding, process redesigns).
Support one-time or special initiatives requiring accounting input, including process automation, audit requests, ASC 606 implementation or business model reviews.
Serve as a flexible resource for cross-functional teams needing financial data, insights, or reconciliation assistance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with deep exposure to GL ownership, ASC 606 and month-end close.
Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Experience working with intercompany transactions and equity-related activity.
Demonstrated ownership over process improvement and cross-functional project execution.
Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with internal teams and external partners.
Timely, Accurate Financial Close: Month-end processes that consistently close on time with accurate reporting and complete reconciliations.
Reliable Distributions & Portco Interaction: Smooth execution of distributions and royalty accounting with clear documentation and proactive issue resolution.
Compliance Confidence: Multi-state compliance issues are addressed with clarity and control.
Efficient, Controlled Payables: Review that Ramp-managed payables processes operate with both speed and accuracy.
Improved Process Infrastructure: Legacy processes are systematically upgraded, documented, and scaled.
Without this role, the company would experience material delays in closing the books, weakened compliance across jurisdictions, potential partner dissatisfaction due to distribution or royalty errors, and slowed progression in scaling the finance function.
