Job Description:
The Department of Sociology at Worcester State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a primary specialization in Medical Sociology and/or Immigration/Migration Studies. This position is vital for supporting high-demand, interdisciplinary curricula across the university. Specifically, the successful candidate will be expected to teach Medical Sociology, a crucial course that serves core requirements for Sociology, Public Health, and Nursing, as well as consistently high-enrollment courses in Contemporary Immigrant Experiences and Contemporary Social Problems.
Furthermore, the department seeks a scholar with strong quantitative expertise to balance our methodological offerings. The candidate must be able to rotate into core departmental requirements, including Research Methods and Social Statistics, while also offering advanced, data-driven electives. The ideal candidate will regularly teach Introductory Sociology, contribute directly to our Social Inequalities concentration, and demonstrate a strong commitment to the department's overarching mission of social justice and public sociology.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, benefited, exempt position. Salary is commensurate with experience and discipline, with a minimum established by the Appendix O of the MSCA contract. The anticipated start date for this position is September 1, 2027.
