Duties
- Assist masons with mixing and applying mortar for bricklaying, stone masonry, and stucco projects
- Support rebar installation and concrete forming activities to prepare work sites for construction
- Handle hand tools and power tools safely to facilitate masonry tasks such as cutting, shaping, and placing materials
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and ensure accurate material placement
- Help with building masonry scaffolds and setting up safety protocols on-site to maintain a secure work environment
- Support the installation of building materials including bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and related components
- Aid in heavy equipment operation when necessary and assist with renovation or restoration projects
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience or a strong interest in masonry work is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to interpret construction plans and schematics accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry techniques such as trim carpentry and framing
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites and masonry operations
- Willingness to learn skills such as concrete finishing, plastering, caulking, metal stud framing, welding, and stone masonry
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong work ethic with excellent teamwork skills and a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards
