Portage Learning Centers is looking for a caring, flexible Teacher Floater to support classrooms throughout our Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start programs. No two days are exactly the same! As a Teacher Floater, you'll work alongside teaching teams, help maintain a safe and engaging learning environment, and provide support wherever it's needed most.
This is a full-time, academic-year position that includes winter, spring, and summer breaks, a comprehensive benefits package, professional development opportunities, and eligibility for employee incentives. Daily hours vary based on program needs but typically fall between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

What We're Looking For
We are seeking an educator who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys supporting children and teaching teams in a variety of classroom settings. The ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative, and able to quickly build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Teacher Floaters play an important role in ensuring continuity of care and learning across the program by providing classroom support, maintaining program quality, and helping ensure children continue to receive high-quality educational experiences each day.
Teacher Floaters travel between our Portage County locations based on program needs.
Depending on program needs, Teacher Floaters may also have opportunities to assist with special projects at our administrative office.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or qualification requirements as applicable)
- One year of classroom experience working with young children, preferred
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid Ohio driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment screenings, including a physical examination and drug screening.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat, and move quickly to assist children
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally to support children's needs and ensure their safety.
Pay: $19.75 - $21.13 per hour
